Playtech acquired Best Gaming Technology
One of the leaders of the industry of real money online casino software development, Playtech company has completed the acquisition of its direct competitor - Best Gaming Technology. The sum of the deal was €138,000,000.
This acquisition has become the first one in a rather long term after Playtech failed to finalize some other deals. For instance, in November of 2015 during the negotiations on buying Plus500 the company representatives denied the offer made by Playtech. The amount of the deal was supposed to be £460,000,000.
As for the deal with BGT acquisition, Playtech bough about 90% of the stocks of the company with 10% available for the outside purchase. It is also worth noting that the management of Playtech decided to maintain the company's founder and CEO.
It is reported that the major factor of the buy was the will of Playtech management to develop Omni-channel and encourage the clients using the digital technology. In the moment, Omni-channel is applied in the following sportsbooks: Ladbrokes, Betfred, Paddy Power, and Coral. It is also used by William Hill online casino.
Omni-Channel is a special feature which allows users to switch the channels (gadgets, laptop, social networking). It is supposed to maximize the comfort of the user in usage of several device.
The finalized deal was commented by Playtech CEO Mor Weiser:
“Playtech managements supposes that digital offers are the future of all the online casinos and we hope that buy of Best Gaming Technology will help us to develop this direction”.
